Updates to the Auction Site

Posted by on Mar 14, 2014 in Minecraft

Over the past few weeks I’ve made a few updates to the Auction site at some of these changes were requested by players and some were just obvious changes.

The first change as requested by players was a sanity check against full inventories I added this several weeks ago. Now when you retrieve or buy items from the Auction system you will never lose an item due to a full inventory.

The second change was a complete overhaul of the in-game listing broadcasts. They now use their own broadcasting code which displays on all three of our servers and now provides a link directly to the listed item[s]. Here is an image of how that interface appears in-game.

The last change which was made today is a feature I’m calling “Stacks”. Essentially when you make multiple Buy Only listings (which is by far our most popular type of listing) your items will clump together under a stack. It is automatic, it saves space and it allows you to give out a single link for multiple identical listings.

To identify a stack simply look for the little number next to the link in the top right of a listing, I have created this little animation to show you where to look.

Listing-GifI hope you all enjoy these changes to the Auction site, I do intend to keep investing my time in making it more functional and easy to use. This year it will be making the leap from the webpage to in-game using standard commands.
